100% Meunier, base year 2015 from Leuvrigny, Damery and Venteuil 30% reserve wines from 2013 Vinification in stainless steel tanks. Ageing on lees: 64 months Dosage: 2 g/l
"Real breadth of interesting autolysis on the nose...really is lovely on the nose. Bone dry but not austere. An interesting bottle of very well-made champagne with sufficient depth." - Jancis Robinson MW
A golden yellow hue with lime and violet aromas on the nose, juicy citrus is present and onto the palate, white cherry, pear and redcurrant. The Meunier is giving a great texture and with 4 years on lees the mid palate is rounded and balancing the acidity. Has a great finish with hints of bright citrus fruits and a hint of pepper and dash of salinity. Love the balance and energy.
Quality is consistent. Deeper bouquet and flavor than most Cali Zins. The Earth tones come thru beautifully about two years from Vintage. Wonderful
Red to contemplate on its own or with good food.
chianti at a good price- good value for everyday drinking
Not quite in same class as recent chianti from Wine Direct released earlier this year-but also half the price. Excellent value for a red wine: you don't have to worry about finding a superior food to match at this excellent price.
Hard pushed to find a NZ red at this price/quality ratio!
