A relatively rare blend of blend of 85% Tempranillo & 15% Syrah. This wine is an enterprising blend of old vine vineyards made by famous family-owned producer Bodega Muriel, founded in 1926 by José Murúa Villaverde. Sourced from classic grape varieties selected from several regions in central Spain blended to create a smooth, rounded, complex, characterful, red that defies its price. The extreme continental climate of the central Spanish plains – hot dry summers and cold winters are key to developing flavour intensity and ripe, rounded tannins. Grapes are hand-harvested crushed and destemmed then fermented in stainless steel for 10 days at cool temperatures to retain the purity of fruit. The wine is aged 4 years before release to develop character, integration and softness of texture.  Food Pairing: Ideal with charcuteries, grilled vegetables and most meat and cheese dishes.
