"From a warm vintage this is classic Pinot Grigio. Light, pale yellow in the glass. Green pear, papaya, apricot, almond meal, green herbs and fennel, a nice long finish to a flavoursome wine. More generous than usual, super drinkable"
The 2021 Pinot Grigio is beautifully aromatic displaying aromas of lemons, fresh pear and wet stone. Spending a short time on lees has softened the wine and delivered a layered, textural mouthfeel whilst maintaining the racy acidity.
Sourced from a single vineyard high above the Tagliamento river and hand harvested in the early morning to retain natural acidity. Whole bunched pressed, aiming to limit skin contact and using only free run and first press juice. Fermented in stainless steel with temperature control before maturation on lees for six months to build texture and complexity.
Quality is consistent. Deeper bouquet and flavor than most Cali Zins. The Earth tones come thru beautifully about two years from Vintage. Wonderful
Red to contemplate on its own or with good food.
chianti at a good price- good value for everyday drinking
Not quite in same class as recent chianti from Wine Direct released earlier this year-but also half the price. Excellent value for a red wine: you don't have to worry about finding a superior food to match at this excellent price.
Hard pushed to find a NZ red at this price/quality ratio!
