"Allow the fragrance of rose garden, red fruit and tobacco to transport you to the rolling hills of Tuscany. All of the flavours you expect in a quality Chianti are here - just-ripe cherries, tobacco, undergrowth, dried herbs, earth, licorice, and an appetizing twang of acidity. Medium-bodied, vibrant, fresh, very precise, and with good intensity and length, it is among the best value Chianti Classico's  we’ve seen in a while."
- Wine Direct Tasting Team

"Pleasant aromas of red berries, cherries and pressed flowers follow through to a medium-bodied palate with a silky texture and a bright finish. From organically grown grapes. Sustainable. Quaffable Chianti. Drink now."
- James Suckling

The Castello d’Albola Estate is situated in Radda at the heart of the Chianti Classico DOCG appellation, where the legacy of grape cultivation dates back to the time of the Etruscans. The Acciaiuoli family commissioned the estate to plant its lofty vineyard in Chianti Classico in the 15th century as a symbol of their high status. Over the centuries, many noble Tuscan families have owned the property, and the estate has earned various accolades for its wines. In 1979, the Zonin family acquired Castello d’Albola promising to uphold the estate’s excellence for future generations.

chianti at a good price- good value for everyday drinking

Not quite in same class as recent chianti from Wine Direct released earlier this year-but also half the price. Excellent value for a red wine: you don't have to worry about finding a superior food to match at this excellent price.
Hard pushed to find a NZ red at this price/quality ratio!
