Located on the hillside, very steep and facing south. The shallow, calcareous soil is not very fertile. It is therefore quite naturally and fairly regularly the lowest yield in the field. Due to its altitude (around 300 m), this terroir is a privileged site for "watching" Beaune and its region, hence the etymology of the place.

"The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Guettes 1er Cru has a taut and crisp bouquet with black cherries, touches of menthol and violet, opulent yet showing more delineation than some of Pavelot’s other cuvées. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins counterbalanced by a fine bead of acidity, lightly spiced with a cohesive finish. Very fine.”
